20x12 hopes to get close to the drama that goes into London 2012, to capture the making of it, the staging of it, the anticipation of the athletes training for it all through the eyes of the local children.

12 pupils from Earlham Primary School have been given the opportunity to learn photography and create a portfolio of 20 photos each, focussing on the run up to the Olympics Games in London. These children live a stone’s throw from the main stadium and they deserve to be close to the action, so we’re helping to make that happen.

Throughout the big countdown they will learn and use photography to bring them closer to the Games through lessons and workshops with professional photographers.

We'd like to bring Olympic hopefuls to the school, go on location to see them train, visit the Olympic sites, meet other people who are involved in bringing the Games to life and take some great photographs.

The project kicked off in June when we invited Emma Britton, potential Olympic gymnast, to come and talk to the entire school about her experiences, hopes and dreams in preparing for selection.

That day we asked the children to complete a postcard telling us why they are excited about the games coming to London.  The best 12 were selected to be part of this project.

This project hopes to make the children feel part of the Games, give them inspiration and a set of new skills and photos that they will keep forever, a real legacy.
